Home information packs (HIPs) are designed to speed up the home buying process.The home owner or agent marketing residential properties are now under a legal duty to provide a home information pack. The following documents must be included in a home information pack: Energy performance certificate (EPC) The EPC is based upon an assessment of the property. The domestic energy assessment involves establishing the age and construction of the property looking for heating system including the boiler and controls, identifying and alternative heating i.e. solar and energy saving light bulbs.
